INTERNSHIP TRAINING AR2615/AR2613/AR2622

Practical training or industrial training is aimed at introducing students to the requirements, activities and operations involved in working in architectural/construction practices. The purpose is to facilitate the involvement of students in professional attachments to architectural practices in order to develop an understanding of the general nature, principles and procedure of law and legislation as applied to architectural drawings, especially the Building by-laws. Students will also be exposed to the process of the authority submission for various drawings from an architectural practice and the range of contract documentation produced to support these drawings.

Via a full-time internship attachment, students will further appreciate the documentation and report-writing skills required of an employee architectural assistant/architect in a typical architect's firm.

The experience of working at Tan 'CK architect firm within these 9 weeks has enriched me greatly. It is a totally different experience from school which allow us to expose to the real life working culture. Through this oricess, i have been working with real professionals, practicing my skills and knowledge gained at school and learning a lot of new things that i could probably have never learned at school. Tan 'CK architect firm mostly works on long term projects therefore it is impossible for us to involve in every phase of a project from its beginning until the final phase. Therefore, i have tried to involve in as many projects on different phases as possible. Moreover, i have realized how important are the management, team work and communication in order to complete a project. These are very crucial issues in finishing a big project that is meeting its due date.

Furthermore, one of the valuable experience that couldn't gain in school was to have chance to attend the client-consultant minutes meeting (CCMM). i have witnessed how Ar. Ryan discussing problems with the clients, engineer and contractors in order to make sure everything is done on time.

As Tan 'CK architect associates with Tan 'CK Planner, we get the chance to visit the government department (DBKL and JUPEM) and contact different authorities and gained a lot of knowledge in permit application through the process.

Besides the working experience, social experience is also one of the precious things i have learned. i have met a lot of new people who were given me a lot of advice and helped us to get used to the working lifestyle of an architecture firm. Last but not least, i am truly thankful to everybody for the help and guidance for these whole 9 weeks of internship training,
